Whilst the greatest effort has been made to ensure the quality of this text, due to the historical nature of this content, in some rare cases there may be minor issues with legibility. I do not know whether educationists will consider this ideal desirable. But is it even attainable? Not certainly at present. It does not pay to teach Caesar to the more advanced scholars of public schools. If there is ever to be a reform, it must begin with the universities. And there is another class of students for whom the Commentaries would be peculiarly appropriate, - the candidates for the Royal Military Academy and for the Royal Military College.
