Good friends can look different than ourselves, and our other friends. When Owlivia, a barn owl tries to make friends with the burrowing owls they refuse because she looks different. A scary hawk flies to the burrow and threatens Chloe, a baby burrowing owl. Owlivia bravely chases him away while the other owls watch in horror. They thank Owlivia for her help. The burrowing owls now want to be her friend even though she doesn't look like them. The story describes Owlivia's acts of kindness and the borrowing owls' change of perception of friends that look different than themselves.
