Nice, France: A young drifter on the run from the police is saved by a beautiful stranger and soon finds himself working for a group of activist hippies with a secret plan. His scheming former boss tries to cope with the fallout from his disappearance as consequences ripple through the criminal underworld. The rookie cop on the case gets stuck with an obese slob of a partner. These three stories intertwine, taking the reader from the forgotten and festering banlieues, through pristine Provencal backcountry, to the coasts of the Mediterranean as the suspense builds and the characters are pushed to their limits. Biodegradable is full of surprising twists, intriguing characters, and biting social commentary. It captures the tension and uncertainty of today's world and ultimately grounds us in the universality of human experience.
