Beyond Good and Evil

First published in 1886, Beyond Good and Evil was created at a time of huge political upheaval. Subtitled 'Prelude to a Philosophy of the Future', Freidrich Nietzsche's masterpiece attacked philosophers for their blind acceptance of Christian moral orthodoxy. He rejected the notion that religion and truth were inexplicably bound. In order to move 'beyond good and evil' he believed that an affirmative approach that fearlessly confronted the ambiguous nature of knowledge was essential. Interrogating the perilous condition of the beliefs of the modern individual, this highly critical polemic confirmed Nietzsche's position as one of the greatest philosophers of this revolutionary, opinionated age.
