Can secrets be hidden forever - or will that which is hidden in darkness always come to the light? Doug Bradshaw and Taylor Smythe are both seniors in college when young Mikey Pounds' broken and dead body is found in the cornfield of his families southern Michigan's farm. However, although Mikey is buried, the memory of the murdered child is not dead. This memory is resurrected years later when Doug and Taylor battle for political power in the state of Arizona. We meet these shining bright lights of the future in college and then follow them to Phoenix where they take their first steps as young adults.
