Between linguistics and language sciences

This book is based on a collection of research, most of which addresses the relationship between linguistics and Arabic language sciences. This relationship has taken various forms, most of which have focused on critiquing Arabic language sciences and attempting to imitate linguistics without paying attention to the differences that must be taken into account whenever borrowing or applying occurs. More than half a century has passed since the emergence of linguistic influence in Arabic culture, yet this relationship has not been resolved, nor have the connections that should be sound and clear between imported linguistics and authentic Arabic language sciences been established. Therefore, I deemed it urgent to review some of the linguistic influence in our linguistic sciences, from the perspectives of methodology, phonology, and morphology, especially as it relates to the phonetic formation of Arabic in light of modern studies. My engagement with this topic has taken various forms for nearly thirty years, including the opinions I have presented in lectures and academic conferences on the subject of linguistics and its effects, in addition to the reviews and research I have written, published in Arabic periodicals, and in published works.
