Belief and the Human Mind

Addressing the role of the mind in establishing belief in God, and some related impediments, this book defines belief and the paths by which it is formed. Doubt, while constituting a major impediment to belief, is simultaneously a significant component of it. As part of this discussion, Dr. Bayoun asserts that the relationship between religion and science is not one of conflict but of reciprocity, with sound science leading toward God and religion, and religion guiding the practice of science. While Dr. Bayoun approaches these topics from an Islamic perspective, many of its insights apply to other religions as well.
