Before the Memories Fail

Jacqueline Saeed Scott, Pulitzer Prize winning photojournalist, has lost something very important, and she has to find it before dementia totally claims her mind. Aaeesha was Jackie's childhood friend from Basra, Iraq. Jackie remembers that Aaeesha left behind a treasure. There's also something important hidden in the box with the treasure. Somehow, she knows the lost treasure has implications for the careers of several high-ranking politicians and, by extension, for the nation. The harder she searches, the more intense the attacks of her enemies become-they don't want her to reveal the truth. Jackie has to sleuth her way through her fading memories to uncover the prize. Jackie has a new home helper, Marna Hunt. Why can't she ever remember Marna's name correctly? As Jackie journeys, we discover that her once altruistic goals have been tainted by the pressures of reality. Her life, and those around her, is changed by the events of this struggle.
