Becoming//Black

Becoming//Black is a collection of poems that follows Mwende "FreeQuency" Katwiwa's exploration of Blackness/Black identity after emigrating from Kenya to her diasporic home in the United States. The collection opens with the authors arrival in the United States and features poems exploring their journey into theirself and (their) Black identity as an immigrant to the Western world. This self published book is the authors first collection of poetry.
