Bathwater Soup

Bathwater Soup is a lighthearted story about children and food. It is written whimsically with Grandma Maddie as the hostess, who invites the neighborhood children for Sunday night dinners and serves them many different multi-cultural foods to try. The story unfolds with how Grandma Maddie solved the problem of some picky eating habits and questionable manners by offering them a bowl of "Bathwater Soup". The story teaches children to expand their food choices and politely try new things. Following the story, a few of Grandma Maddie's special recipes, including Bathwater Soup, follow for children and adults to experiment with. Aside from food and culture, the story and recipes teach them math, a little bit of science, nutrition, cooking and creativity.
