We all know the heroes of the recording industry: Sir George Martin, Al Schmitt, Nigel Godrich, Rick Rubin – people who seem larger than life. In our book, Recording Unhinged: Creative and Unconventional Music Recording Techniques, we imagined some big-name producers as gods from mythology. We envisioned famous recording engineers doing other types of engineering, and mixers as people who mix all kinds of things besides music.
