At the ISIS table

Yufa, a Yazidi girl in her twenties, narrates what she was exposed to when ISIS entered her village in Sinjar, and the journey of captivity between Mosul and Raqqa. To combat her pain and headaches, Yufa recalls her past and her beautiful memories with her family and her lover, Sirwan, her bread that satisfies her loneliness. All the characters are fictional, but Zahraa Abdullah inspired her novel from the testimonies of survivors and from extensive research on the subject.
