Mutilated, and wretchedly translated, its meaning perverted by knaves, and made utterly void by fools, the Bible has, nevertheless, a reality, (as we shall see,) which amply accounts for its wonderful power of endurance, superior to the poison of treachery, the smothering influence of folly, and the violent as saults of blind, indiscriminating destructionists.
