Arab coins and numismatics

In this unique book, Father Anstani Al-Karmeli collects the news and narratives contained in ancient Arab coins, their origin, classifications, circumstances of their formation, and the political, economic and social factors that contributed to their development over successive eras, in a work that goes beyond its historical and documentation function to an aesthetic one by describing coins as part of the crystallization of what was later known as art. The importance of the book lies in the accuracy and investigation by its author of the ancient letters and writings that dealt with the subject in a comprehensive manner covering the world and explaining, in detail and breadth, the characteristics of money, its forms, categories, methods of making it, and the contents of what is inscribed on it and its implications. To end with what is termed "numerology," which is a branch of historical science in which the types of coins and medals minted at different times, in various countries, and in the days of various kings and tsars are known.
