Angola, on managing wars and asymmetries

War has been the central element in Angola's history, both in terms of its geographical and political formation. In general, the Angolan wars have had a marked asymmetrical profile, which has determined the corresponding management, means and profiles of the actors involved. However, at certain times, Angolan territory has been the scene of classic confrontations between European powers or with strong influence from foreign contingents. This work seeks to address the various periods of war in Angola, outlining its major battles and the constant relationship between 'regular and irregular' combat.
