Anent the Mountain of Mountains

What remains of the feeble human race has lived beneath the mighty shadow of the great Mountain over a hundred years, striving to rebuild civilization as it once was. What few know, and fewer still regard with any sincerity, is a great monstrosity looming on the horizon. A Eucatastrophe brought on by a darkness taking a form so egregious and yet so familiar, it baffles the imagination. A handful of unlikely allies, thrown together by the workings of a mysterious stranger, is the only thing that stands between humanity and its inevitable demise.
