And, On Her Farm She Had A Ghost
The dead have always been obsessed with Rachel Law. She knew that whatever else she did in her life, she would always chase knowledge about the unknown.
When she turns twelve years old. Her parents suggest a summer adventure of operating a roadside stand to sell surplus garden vegetables. While making money was appealing, it didn't sound like much of an adventure.
With her best friend, Sugar, and her two cousins, Marl and Danny, they start the roadside stand, but soon they are talking about what else they can sell. Rachel suggests ghost hunting.
So they alter their sign and add "Ghost Hunting"
The response wasn't what they wanted. Mostly, smiles, chuckles, and expressions of disbelief.
Finally, one woman tells them she has seen a strange light in one of her old barns. She asks them if they could investigate. Now they have a case, but her parents won't let them hunt at night, and the neighbor wants the barn cleaned out as part of the deal.
Still, it's their first case, and Rachel approaches it with unbridled passion. Soon they are knee deep in manure, and over their head with the paranormal.
Working to make sense of their experience, they run into roadblocks when no one takes them seriously. No one except for a ghost who wants their help, and a killer who wants them dead.
Rachel and her friends learn about the paranormal, trust, friendship, love, and growing up.
