An English Mission is a historically factual novel written by L. Tom Holmes, the grandson of the main focus, Charles Greatorex Holmes. The story attempts to answer a 110-year-old well kept secret involving the total abandonment of a 5-year-old daughter in post-Victorian England. A secret never discussed and, rare times, forbidden to even be remembered.

The story takes place in 1905, a more simple and religious time in English history.
