America's Transition from Agriculture to Industry

Farming techniques changed drastically from the Native Americans' methods of interdependent planting, to the decline in U.S. farming during and after the Industrial Revolution. In exploring the evolution of our agricultural economy, the author allows students to explore pivotal developments over the course of several centuries, from the first colonial cash crops to the invention of the cotton gin.
