AMERICA'S NATIONAL MONUMENTS

A National Monument is one of the several designations used in Government Legislation to identify a type of parksite.National Monuments are located all over the country. They preserve and interpret for the public a wide variety of historic sites and natural features. At the time this book is written, there are 139 National Monuments administered by several government agencies including the National Park Service.I have visited all these National Monuments and have been presenting a course on this subject. The course consists of photographs and basic information on each parksite as well as comments based on my experiences while visiting the sites. This book is a somewhat expanded version of the presentation materials used during the course.
