"e;Amended follows Will Creagh, a young African-American man from Birmingham, Alabama, throughout his childhood and into his college years. The book is centered around the question: "e;What does it mean for your livelihood to rest upon a Constitutional amendment?"e; Like other American youth, Will grew up in schools. He reflects on this journey from childhood to adulthood through the lens of his racial experiences in education. According to Will, these experiences have something to say about America. He is particularly interested in how Black America encounters history and it's affect on the Black life and mind. In the book, the 23 year-old professional reveals personal struggles with mental health and substance abuse. Will wants better outcomes for Black youth and believes that the question he poses in this memoir should be explored for answers."e;
