Alley is a young alligator who goes for her first dental checkup before she has a dental "e;problem."e; The book attempts to present some of the basic things a child may see or experience in a very positive way. The book also presents terms that are commonly used by a pediatric dentist that are less intimidating to a child. Words such as "e;tooth counter"e; or "e;Mr. Thirsty"e; are substituted for "e;dental probe"e; or "e;dental suction."e; Alley Alligator's Awesome Smile attempts to instill a desire in children to be excited to care for their smile at an early age and reduce anxiety for future dental care.
