James Herriot wrote his book 'All creatures great and small' about his life with animals in his veterinary practice in North Yorkshire. I spent my life with people and their properties in the New Forest in South Hampshire, and this is my story of my meeting and doing business with a kaleidoscope of people from all sections of society and illustrating the numerous, hilarious and sometimes very sad situations I found myself in.
