Edgar Wallace Richard Horatio (English Richard Horatio Edgar Wallace) (April 1, 1875 - February 10, 1932) - English writer, playwright, screenwriter, journalist. Better known as Edgar Wallace. The author of 175 short stories, 24 plays and a huge number of articles in periodicals. The founder of the literary genre "thriller". In his works created more than 160 films. Born in Greenwich (London) in an actor''s family, and his father did not even know about its existence. Edgar Wallace worked as a correspondent for Reuters and the London newspaper Daily Mail. The writer died in Hollywood while working on the script for the film "King Kong".
