All Arthur Schopenhauer

One of the most famous thinkers of irrationalism, a misanthrope. He was fascinated by German romanticism, was fond of mysticism, highly appreciated the main works of Immanuel Kant, calling them "the most important phenomenon that philosophy has known for two thousand years," appreciated the philosophical ideas of Buddhism (in his office stood the bust of Kant and the bronze statuette of Buddha), Upanishads, as well as Epictetus, Cicero and others. He criticized his contemporaries Hegel and Fichte. He called the existing world, in contrast to the sophistic, as he put it, Leibniz''s fabrications, "the worst possible worlds," for which he received the nickname "philosopher of pessimism."
