This book contains the love letters from Sidney Diamond to Estelle Spero, and the few letters that were preserved before combat started from Estelle to Sidney. There is also explanation of the context of some of the letters, to share with the reader the full meaning of various letters and references.

The letters show the humor, irony, intelligence, pain, and hope that filled Sidney Diamond''s experience fighting in the Pacific theater of World War II, and his deep love for Estelle Spero. The book has been featured on the U.S.S. Enterprise, used as a reward gift by PBS, and promoted with appreciation by Andrew Carroll, the author of the book War Letters.
