Advances in Integrated Wheat Disease Management

Wheat is one of the world’s most important crops and is a staple ingredient in the diets of millions of people around the world. However, it’s been estimated that around 20% of global wheat yields are lost to pests and diseases each year. As the agricultural sector faces growing pressure to reduce its reliance on chemical inputs, the development of integrated disease management programmes is gaining momentum as a sustainable alternative.

Advances in integrated wheat disease management provides a comprehensive overview of recent developments in understanding and monitoring major diseases affecting wheat, as well as methods for developing fungal and bacterial disease-resistant wheat varieties.
