Was A. Violet a mass murderer who lived a life of great disturbance, or just an eloquent drifter? Detailing his youth in Nebraska, witnessing the first atom bomb explosion in New Mexico, working on the set of 'Psycho' in Los Angeles, then on to Dallas, British Columbia, and, lastly, the remote wetlands of Cameron Parish, Louisiana, 'A. Violet' is a novel-length accounting of a man's extraordinary life, presented in stanza form. Told to the author by Violet himself the day before Hurricane Rita devastated the Lousiana coast, where Violet presumably lived his last day, this is a story never heard, and worth hearing.
