A Smack of Jellyfish

A SeeSayCreate book about names given to groups, male, female and baby animals. Includes 48 different animals such as a Fez of Armadillos, a Paddling of Ducks and a Crash of Rhinos along with names given to the males, females and babies of each animal when appropriate. As in all SeeSayCreate books, word fun is included. Introduces "portmanteau," a linguistic blend of words into a new word to encourage creative invention of new animals such as a Zonkey for Donkey and Zebra. Art activities focus on taking the portmanteau word and making a visual drawing of what it might look like or creating a clay sculpture of a silly fantasy animal.
