Originally published in 1952, this book was written as a continuation of the catalogues of Islamic manuscripts in Cambridge University Library created by Edward Granville Browne. As noted in the preface, the text was 'compiled upon economic lines; but though austere, it will be found to contain the references adequate to establish the identity and significance of each item.'
