A Season of Thunder

For much of his life, Alex has been haunted by the mystery surrounding his shooting as a four-year-old boy in the New South Wales town of Kandos during the 1960's.

While searching for a lost friend in Europe, he discovers that the events of that horrible day might be linked to his father's wartime service in the former Yugoslavia. With the help of his sister and a former police detective, Alex begins his own investigation into what he soon accepts was a deliberate attempt on his life.

As Alex returns to Croatia and Italy to unravel his family's subsequent escape to Australia after the war, he realises that everything he thought he knew about his childhood was a lie. Can he find the truth about his shooting and the reasons behind its coverup before the whirlwind he has created consumes him and everyone he loves?
