The second book in the Freddie Jones series sees our hero meeting a new companion, Esmeralda. In her preddie life Esmeralda was the daughter of a witch living in the sixteenth century. Now, selected to be a companion, she quickly learns to use her powers of ignition and high-tensity heat to ward off wraiths. She is also more than a match for Festering festus, the evil demon who is the companions sworn enemy.Freddie finds himself very attracted to this new companion and accompanies her on adventures that take them into the heart of Festus' domain.
