Takashi Arima, a high school boy, lost his purpose to live two years ago, However, through Mori Hikari, he finds himself again. Arima unintentionally discovers the secret of one of his classmates, Hikari. She was dying of liver cancer and had only a few months left to live. Due to this shared secret, the boy promised to fulfil his dying classmate's wishes. They find themselves slowly drawn to each other despite being two worlds apart.
