Dissatisfied with the hustle and bustle of the city, Izuki is a lonely young man who moves to the countryside to take care of his relatives' home.

While struggling to adapt to this unfamiliar mountain life, with its numerous insects and no cell service, he's suddenly attacked by a boar youkai. Saved by a handsome man with dog ears, who claims to be a komainu youkai whose job is to protect the local shrine, Izuki is asked to become his master!
