Pompeii, 79 A.D.

In the city of Pompeii, over a dozen children have gone missing, including the son of a local guard. His dauntless wife has made it her mission to find the boy, but her search ultimately leads her right to Theron's door.

Theron has vowed to take revenge on the Council of Thirteen. In his cave on Mt. Vesuvius, he is finally close to discovering the means to defeat the ultimate weakness of vampire life: the Sun itself. Once he succeeds, he will become the most powerful Bachiyr in the history of his race, and the Council will fall to his anger.
