Whilst the greatest effort has been made to ensure the quality of this text, due to the historical nature of this content, in some rare cases there may be minor issues with legibility. Even now there are many places where land can be bought for the amount of money paid annually for rent by many market-gardeners, where the soil is as well adapted, naturally, for growing many vegetable crops as any can be. At the present low prices of produce and the unequal price of labor, farmers can no longer depend upon the usual crops, and are' anxious to turn their ground to good account by growing root creps and other vegetables which may be transported to market from a distance, and to aid such in accomplishing this object is the mission of one part of this work.
