Whilst the greatest effort has been made to ensure the quality of this text, due to the historical nature of this content, in some rare cases there may be minor issues with legibility. Accordingly, if we take into consideration the somewhat arbitrary proceedings of the Rabbi who adapted his text to the Midrash, and of Jerome who paid more attention to the sense than to the words, and who evidently made many additions (e. G. Ii. 12 - 19, iii. 16 - 23, vi. 17 to end), we may venture to say that our Chaldee text in a more com plete form was the original from which the translation of the Vulgate was made.
