Yentna Old Man River: Larry Heater, Rescue Man

Larry Heater grew up in Southwest Washington but found his real home when he and his wife, Lucille, moved to Alaska and bought a cabin on the Yentna River. Through the years, they owned Rebel Roost Lodge and later Rebel Roost Towing and Rescue.

These stories are about a man who loved the river, no matter the season, and loved his river community. Oh, the adventures he had Whether he was on the river for pleasure, to help someone in need, or to haul freight to a neighbor, Larry was always there with a smile and a story.
