Woiksed: Virtual Planet

Woiksed is a virtual planet created by the architect and urban planner Emanuel Dimas de Melo Pimenta in 1980. It was the first virtual planet in history, anticipating Second Life and similar projects in more than twenty years. In Woiksed - Virtual Planet, Emanuel Pimenta tells how the birth of such project happened, his involvement with personalities like Ren Berger, the Lake Maggiore Prize in 1993, the influence, sometimes at distance, from personalities like Richard Buckminster Fuller, John Cage, Paolo Soleri, John Wheeler, Licklider or Morton Heilig among others. The book includes various images of the original project.
