Why ???

Our Heroine Joan lives in England with her widowed mother who is very possessive. Joan falls in love with Marc. Their wedding date is approaching when the mother plans a trip to Canada. Joan is very upset. She doesnt want to leave Marc. He decides to accompany them. Just before they are ready to leave, something tragic happens and Marc is unable to go with them. A supposedly two-week holiday in Canada turns out to last ten years. In Toronto at the festivities, Joan meets Allan Todd from New York who used to be in her mothers life many years ago. The story takes us to Toronto, Centre Island, Niagara Falls, New York city, the Adirondaks Mountains and La Belle Province de Quebec. Each time Joan is ready to go back home to Marc, some tragedy occurs and she has to stay in Toronto. She keeps asking herself, what is the reason Why? She believes that fate has played a big part in her life. Joan returns to England. Does she find Marc? Is fate kind to her finally? Please read on.
