Laura grew up with a deep level of self-hatred that she attributed to the years spent begging for her father's attention. Never feeling good enough was the theme she carried into every aspect of her life. She clung to toxic relationships, developed a severely disordered relationship with food, couldn't stand the sight of her face or body, and often wondered how many more days she would make it through. While her friends graduated from college and began their careers, Laura left home at eighteen and successfully followed her dream of becoming a professional roller derby skater. Still, fulfillment eluded her. Now, Laura's life isn't anywhere near perfect, but the need to have it "e;appear"e; that way no longer exists.
