Water produced by oil extraction and recommendations for reuse

In the current scenario of scarcity of good drinking water, further studies are needed into the feasibility and application of water of inferior quality for less noble uses. The object of study in this case is produced water obtained from oil extraction, taking into account the abundance of this water in the state of Rio Grande do Norte and the lack of more sustainable options for its disposal in the environment, thus generating a favourable panorama for studying its applicability in other productive sectors.
