Vocational Education

Whilst the greatest effort has been made to ensure the quality of this text, due to the historical nature of this content, in some rare cases there may be minor issues with legibility. But the great social movements of our time have finally brought to us unmistakable demands for democratic and efficient systems Of vocational education. Heretofore such school vocational education as we have had has been aristo cratic for the leaders it was claimed; and non-school vocational education has been haphazard, unorganized, and deplorably lacking in efficiency. What we call the contemporary movement for vocational education is in stark simplicity the result Of an enormous social demand for schools for the vocational education of the rank and file Of workers. Schools Of professional educa tion for the training of leaders we have long had but corporate effort has, until almost yesterday, balked at the problem of providing training schools for workers who toil in the unexalted callings of mine, farm, forest, shop, factory, shipboard, and home.
