Vistas in Electric Power is a three-volume collection of papers that reviews technological advances in electric power development. Topics covered range from energy sources for conversion and conventional steam generation to nuclear power generation, transmission protection and operation, and systems operation and control. Intensive lightning and heat pumps are also discussed, along with direct electric heat. Comprised of six sections, this book begins with an overview of the role of energy in society, followed by a detailed account on the benefits of progressive engineering combined with progressive management. The reader is then introduced to energy sources for conversion, including nuclear energy; the electric power system; hydropower generation; and nuclear power generation.
