Under study

The novel "Under Study" discusses the meaning of "identity" and its impact on the lives of individuals who have been deprived of it. Through three generations, in the Al Abdullah family, the novel presents the story of alienation and fragmentation through the struggling father Bassem, who was tempted to leave and left his family and went away, and the son Hassan, who was swallowed by a different, mysterious and sad fate. Laila, the heroine of this novel, goes on paths of defiant resistance to a difficult reality that left women facing their fate alone, beginning with grandmother Souad, her daughter Najwa, and her grandchildren. As for Yasmine, she chooses a seductive and glamorous world whose charm she was unable to resist.The author narrates stories that intertwine between different worlds, from Beirut in the seventies until the outbreak of war in Syria, and the impact it left on the heroes of this novel.
