To teach with Love: Meditations for Teachers is a compendium of ideas that I have thought about as a teacher, professor and, especially as a child from a chaotic family. To me, the most significant moments in a teacher's relationship with their students happen outside the curriculum. It is here that teachers often inspire, motivate, encourage, disparage or damage students the most and yet, it is least discussed.The following meditations reflect the knowledge gained in a lengthy career as a professor and teacher. The meditations are short. There are no lengthy explanations. They are meant for the reader to spend time contemplating what the meaning is for them personally and musically. Select one or two and spend a day, a week, or a month reflecting on them.
