Thyroid Neoplasm

Thyroid cancer is a relatively common type of cancer, accounting for 1 to 5% of all cancer cases worldwide. Thyroid carcinoma is a type of cancer that occurs in the thyroid gland and involves the uncontrolled growth of cells. In typical circumstances, the thyroid gland in adults weighs between 10-20 grams. In its early stages, thyroid cancer often does not present any symptoms. However, some common symptoms of thyroid cancer include a lump in the front of the neck, hoarseness or voice changes, swollen lymph nodes in the neck, trouble swallowing or breathing, and persistent pain in the throat or neck. Single nodules are the most common indication of thyroid cancer.
