Third Time at Bat

If marriage is a pot of soup, it seemed we were stirring

a lot into it ... or ladling out the bitter herbs.

So when we traveled, it was like turning off the burner,

putting a lid on it, and leaving the flavors to blend.

Actress and artist Leigh Davis lives a happy-and often humorous-life in the South with her loving husband. But her path wasn't always smooth. Husband number one was an abusive, drugging and drinking hippy with whom she shared nothing in common except for their love of his aunt (Leigh's surrogate mother), a cat, and their children whom she raised largely on her own.

Husband number two was small-town trial attorney and alcoholic ten years Leigh's junior with whom she shared a love of a Victorian mansion ... where she did all the work.

Finding the courage to step up to the plate once more, Leigh finally met her "grand slam" in husband number three, a pilot she married just eighty-seven days after they met. It was then that her life truly began to flourish.

Peppered with humor, resilience, and adventure, Third Time at Bat shares one woman's journey of languish, love, and loss through marriages both failed and cherished.
