The Virtual Campus

This text presents the developments in establishing a virtual campus both in Distance Learning Universities and non-distant ones. Innovations in learning are analyzed from real practices ranging from specific domain experiences to broadscale international projects. The following topics are discussed in detail: promotion of distance learning through communications technology; social and organizational implications of telecommunication technology; evaluation and design of communications systems; description of research findings in distance learning; and cultural aspects of distance learning.
