The Tormented Duke's Proposal

Gregory Lockwood is the Duke of Berkshire. At the age of thirty, he has everything in life a young man could wish for, but he is a man tormented by the thought of failing in life. After realising that he cannot continue to run away from his fear, he decides that he needs to abandon the notion of love altogether, and pursue a marriage that will keep him from thoughts he deems frivolous. Catherine Archer is the exact opposite; a romantic who envisions meeting her one true love and living happily ever after, she is soon challenged by the realities of life, and finds that one must make do with what one has. When Gregory and Catherine meet, their attraction for each other is undeniable, though they deny it by using their predetermined ideas of what is best for each other. That, however, is nothing compared to the fact that Violet, Catherine's younger sister, is expecting a proposal from Gregory, and she faces being betrayed by both the Duke and her beloved sister when finding out that they have fallen in love.
